- Basin
Head Fisheries Museum (Basin Head)

Spectacularly situated on a
headland overlooking one of the Island's most beautiful white sand
beaches, Basin Head Fisheries Museum near Souris, Kings County, depicts
the changing nature of the province's historic inshore fishery through
a wealth of displays and artifacts. Basin Head is part of the PEI
Museum and Heritage Foundation.

- East Point Lighthouse
(East Point)

Built in 1867, this 64 foot
octagonal tower is one of the Island's "first generation" lighthouses.
Visitors who climb to the top are rewarded with a view of the "meeting
of the tides" where the waters of the Northumberland Strait and the
Gulf of Saint Lawrence blend and swirl.

- Elmira
Railway Museum (Elmira)

For over a century the railway
wound its way across the cultural and physical landscape of Prince
Edward Island. Elmira Station, in northeastern Kings County, was the
end of the line. Today, the Elmira Railway Museum depicts the
fascinating story of railroading in the province. Elmira Railway Museum
is part of the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.

- Garden of the Gulf Museum
(Montague)

Housed in an historic Island
sandstone landmark, our exhibits feature exciting aspects of our rich
local history. Of special interest is an 18th century militia coat and
a Centennial Album containing a pictorial history of the town of
Montague from 1864 to 1967. Special programming is offered throughout
the summer. Call museum for details.

- Cape Bear Lighthouse (Cape
Bear)

Cape Bear was one of the seven
Marconi stations that went into service in 1905. In 1922 the Cape
Bear station ceased operations. In 1999 an annex was added to the Cape
Bear lighthouse to house a replica of the Marconi Station. It was
opened to the public on Jun 12, 2000. The replica simulates the
original station with equipment, period furniture, maps, charts,
pictures and a model of the operator with an audio of how a message
from the Titanic was received.

- Cardigan River Heritage

- Roma
at Three Rivers (Montague)

Now visitors can travel back 275
years to the days when French entrepreneur Jean Pierre Roma established
his commercial enterprise on Ile St. Jean, as Prince Edward Island was
known then. A community group based in the Montague area has
reconstructed and developed the site of his bustling settlement at
Trois Rivières, and produced extensive touring information based
on documents recording the thirteen years of this exciting period in
Island history.
