Banner for L’Societe L’Assomption Succurasale Beaubien of Rustico, P.E.I. "Ave Maria Gratia Pleana," translates to Hail Mary Perfect Grace or Hail Mary Full of Grace. The Assumption refers to when God assumed or took Mary up to heaven. The cherubs are also known as putti which are child like, plump male figures from the Renaissance. The banner is handmade.

Blue, white, gold, pink, brown; front edges trimmed in gold metallic thread in curved pattern; white moire fabric in an arch across top; brown and gold paint spell “ Ave Maria Gratia Plena”; center front of canvas pasted on moire with yellow clouds and stars background is Mary, in white & blue robes floats on clouds five cherubs at her feet; center cherub has pink blanket and flowers; bottom prism shaped then rounded at center; all layers sewn shut at bottom; reverse side, light blue silk faded; canvas letters pasted on "LA SOCIETE / L’ASSOMPTION/ RUSTICO/ I.P.E." Width 74cm Length 94cm
